The 8th Annual 500 Songs for Kids music celebration kicked off on April 10 at Smith's Olde Bar. The four weekend fundraiser for Songs for Kids Foundation provided some of the event's most memorable moments to date.
Skid Row kicked things off on night one with a cover of Cheap Trick's "Surrender" from this year's 500 Song countdown as well as rocking the house with their own classic, "Youth Gone Wild." Other standout performances from the weekend included Dead Confederate's T. Hardy Morris covering Neil Young, Heavy Mojo bringing down the house with U2, and others. However, the most extraordinary performance came from Nicolas Duncan; a young man who is an extremely talented piano player and former children's hospital patient and Songs for Kids recording artist.
This weekend 500 Songs will host the weekend's countdown at The Earl starting Thursday, April 17. Admission is pay what you want, so please make an effort to support this amazing charity and the fantastic artists who perform.
