Reagan Rock Prom Photos 2013

Last Saturday, Yacht Rock Revue fans flooded Park Tavern wearing their finest polyester and sequins for the Annual Reagan Rock Prom. Trading their traditional 70s soft rock set for 80s dance favorites, the gents from Please Rock had partiers having the time of their lives under the Park Tavern tent.

InstaRecap: 500 Songs for Kids Weekend 1

500 Songs for Kids 2013 kicked off last weekend at Smith's Olde Bar. The theme varied each night from Friday's Greatest Soundtrack Songs to Saturday's Greatest Break-Up Song countdown, but what did not vary was the intensity. Seasoned and new performers belted, danced, and sometimes rapped their way through each night's song list.

Mixtape Atlanta was front and center both nights capturing the acts and sharing photos instantaneously via Instagram. Check out all our Instagram photos from the weekend here.

500 Songs for Kids 2013- Night 4 Artist List

For the second weekend of 500 Songs for Kids, the musical charity will be stationed at The Loft counting down VH1's Greatest Songs of the 80s (Friday) and 90s (Saturday). Below is the confirmed lineup for Saturday, April 27 with more bands to be announced. Tickets are $15; buy them in advance here. Doors open at 6:30PM, but the fun lasts all night.

Reagan Rock Prom 2013

The smooth gents of Yacht Rock Revue return to the Park Tavern stage this Saturday, April 20 for their annual Reagan Rock Prom. This retro concert party will feature rad jams from the 1980s that will get you into the groove and footloose. Like past years, the band will be crowning a Prom King and Queen so make sure your hair is teased and dress pressed. This year's prize for Best Dressed King and Queen will receive two tickets to the upcoming Yacht Rock Revival at Chastain Park Amphitheatre.

The Whigs "Staying Alive"

Check out The Whigs new music video for "Staying Alive" off their current album Enjoy the Company.The trio portray an underappreciated wait staff with director Scott Carney serving as their boss. Best of 500 Songs for Kids 2012

This Friday, 500 Songs for Kids returns for the seventh consecutive year benefiting Songs for Kids Foundation. Our favorite musical marathon will kick off at Smith's Olde Bar on April 19 and feature a countdown of the 50 Greatest Soundtrack Songs on Friday night and the 50 Greatest Break-Up Songs on Saturday night. Doors open at 6:30pm and tickets are $15 at the door. All proceeds benefit the foundation.

Over the years, 500 Songs for Kids has brought out some of Atlanta's and the country's most popular and talented artists to perform a song off the countdown. Last year was no different, Zac Brown Band members Coy Bowles and Clay Cook performed the first night and Janelle Monae brought the house down on the final night.
