Why: They’re in a class all their own. Deeply rooted in jazz, Jaspects is known to evoke the spirit of such great hits like Freddie Hubbard’s classic “Red Clay” mixed with OutKast’s “Cadillac Doors”. Combining hip-hop, funk, and a whole lot of jazz, this Atlanta based sextuplet is one of the hottest band around. They’ve been described as a Jazz band with futuristic overtones. They’ve collaborated with musical geniuses such as Grammy nominated artist Janelle Monae and appeared in 2005's major motion picture Hustle and Flow. On their newest release, The Polkadotted Stripe, it is obvious they’ve taken the art form to another level. Not to be under estimated or ignored, Jaspects reaches the urban renaissance in us all.
For the fans of: Cheese Grits, brass horns, and music that takes you on a funky down home futuristic ride.
